How to Wear the N95 Mask Correctly

Secondly use both straps on the mask to hold it in place to keep air from leaking around it.

How to Make Sure the Mask Fits

You should always conduct a user seal check, this entails both positive and negative pressure checks, to make completely sure that you have correctly put the mask on and then adjusted it to fit snugly.

Negative pressure check

Holding the mask with both hands completely over the mask, inhale sharply. Being careful not to change the position of the mask. The mask should pull into your face. If air leaks around your face or eyes, adjust the nose piece and straps and redo the positive pressure check.

Positive pressure check

Again hold the mask with both hands and exhale sharply. Be sure to cover the exhalation valve when you exhale. No air should leak out of the mask if it fits properly. If air leaks out, re-adjust the nose piece and straps and redo the negative pressure check.
